da Vinci® S HD™ Surgical System
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with women’s cancer that may require surgery, you’ll want to learn all your options, including the most effective, least invasive surgical treatments available.
Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network is home to the latest in robotic surgery technology. Called the da Vinci® S HD™ Surgical System, it allows your surgeon to perform even the most complex and delicate procedures through very small incisions with unmatched precision. The da Vinci system cannot be programmed, nor can it make decisions on its own. Every surgical maneuver is performed with direct input from your surgeon. The system has been successfully used in tens of thousands of minimally invasive procedures worldwide.
Our surgeons are the only ones in the region using this state-of-the-art technology for women’s cancer treatments such as radical hysterectomies, fertility-sparing procedures and lymph node removal.
Treats these conditions:
-
Simple hysterectomy (removal of uterus and cervix)
-
Unilateral/bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of one or both ovaries and fallopian tubes)
-
Radical hysterectomy (removal of uterus, cervix, top part of vagina, ovaries, fallopian tubes, lymph nodes, lymph channels and tissue in the pelvic cavity that surrounds the cervix)
-
Lymph node dissection (removal of more than one lymph node for inspection under a microscope)
